Buy generic DomainsSome domains generate what is called ‘natural traffic’. This means people show up on the domain without even being sure there’s actually a website. If you’re an online bookstore for example, you’re going to be interested to acquire the natural traffic of Books.com. The more natural traffic a domain generates, the more it’s worth of course. But there are other domains that will also deliver similar traffic right to your doorstep that aren’t so expensive. Find niche domains, and redirect them to your site in order to obtain a steady flow of visitors, regardless of your SEO efforts. In time it might even become interesting to rebrand your product or site to the domain that delivers the most relevant traffic.
Enable the Domain Parking Channel in AdWords
Your AdWords ads show up everywhere, even on sites that only exist to camouflage a parked domain. If you’re advertising in AdWords, your ads will show up on these websites if their domain is similar enough to your offers. But traffic from these clicks don’t convert as well as ads from normal websites. Google now allows you to eliminate your ads from these unefficient channels by enabling the Domain Parking Channel. You can either exclude the entire parked domain channel, or exclude site per site, depending on which ones deliver bad clicks. AdWords also offers Placement Performance reports in order to do this. Some parked domains might actually deliver quality traffic, and the report will tell you which ones that are. |
