Most of the people who participate in affiliate marketing programs will have more than one website on which they advertise their affiliate partners to increase earning potential. They probably also have newsletters that advertise their affiliates. In order to figure out which methods of advertising are the most fruitful, they will need to determine where the traffic is coming from. It is also important to know this information because your affiliate partners may want to know where traffic is originating. Generally, you have the ability to change the URL to your affiliate partner’s website by just adding a single letter or number or even a word that will allow them to distinguish where the traffic is coming from. You should check with your affiliate partner to determine what the options are for modifying your links appropriately. We have located a number of affiliate programs that provide the option for using Sub-IDs If you use one of these programs, and you have a specific question about their service, you should contact their customer service department. There are sometimes requirements about notifying the company prior to modifying the URL in your links. Be sure to make a note of those restrictions.
