Page 1 of 2 The use of TestimonialsOne of the most effective advertisements for a product or service is the customer testimonial or a positive review. Given all of the advertising out there, consumers have know how to spot deceptive marketing efforts, and they have become indifferent to “attention oriented marketing” tactics. These include “Lowest price on then Net!” and similar exclamations. Overcoming buyer apathy is the biggest problem faced by an affiliate who would like to not only generate a sale (thus a commission), but also improve the quality of the leads that he provides to his affiliate partners merchants As an affiliate, it is important to ensure that you initiate trust between the consumer and merchant using your services. Sometimes, the best method of selling is called, “word of mouth” advertising. If you look at some very successful online enterprises, such as Amazon.com, they offer a section after the product declaration for reviews by other users. Many purchase commitments are made based on the Testimonials! How can testimonials be providedTestimonials can be given in several ways. The easiest is as an affiliate text link, which would provide proof to your customers and newsletter readers that the company that you are promoting is a reliable company who will stand behind the products and services they sell The supporting testimonial can be anywhere from a single link of text to even a page of text. Unfortunately, it’s a matter of experience and experiment to determine what type of advertising gives you the best results. Many times it will be sufficient to provide a paragraph of supporting testimonial for a particular service, and a sentence or two for a product. Often one has to look at the degree of sophistication required to use the product. Researching other affiliate programs, you will find that most do not offer testimonials as affiliate text links, however there aren’t any rules saying that you can’t use them.
